President: Emma Baker

Emma Baker is a senior from McMurtry College. In addition to ASME President, she serves as the RCEL (Rice Center for Engineering Leadership) Student Director. Emma is passionate about helping others have the best Rice engineering experience possible and connecting and making an impact on as many students as possible. She is a native Houstonian and you’ll usually see her walking around campus with a Route 44 Sonic Diet Dr. Pepper!

Joel Kim is from Will Rice and is a junior. His hometown is in Katy, Texas. Joel also is a member of the Bollywood Dance Team!

External President: James Phillips

James is a senior who hails from Lovett College. He has been involved with Rice Eclipse for the last three years where he has served as Injector Plate project lead for the last two. He is also involved with RCEL and served as one of the Lab Section leads and Executive Board member last year. As incoming Internal Vice President he hopes that he can share the bond that he feels with his close Meche friends to every Mech on campus and that he can help share the experience he has gained with the next group of budding mechanical engineers.

Eric Voigt is a sophomore from Brown College, but originally from Birmingham, Alabama. He loves live music, traveling, and the outdoors. Also, he is involved with the Rice Electric Vehicle design team and interested in automotive engineering.

Secretary: Joey Lou

Joey Lou is a junior at Lovett. His hometown is Ningbo, in Southeast China. Besides ASME, he is extensively involved in two on campus organizations: Rice Eclipse, of which he is the aerodynamics lead and RCEL, where he will be the new section lead. So if you are interested in using your MechE knowledge to build cool stuff or if you are interested in RCEL program, he would be a good person to talk to!

Senior Representative: Damien Ng

Damien is a senior from Baker college. He’s from Singapore, which is a small clean island with the best food in the world 24 hours away by plane. With all that flying, he naturally became interested in aerospace and he hopes that that’s what he’ll do in the future. He’s been involved in Rice Electric Vehicle, Rice Eclipse and Rice Health Advisors. Come talk to him if you’ve any questions about anything above, or about life in general really!

Junior Representative: Gigi Rill

Gigi Rill is a junior at Martel and originally from St. Louis. In addition to her position on the ASME Board, she is the President of REV (Rice Electric Vehicle) and the Head of the Martel Beer Bike Build.

Sophomore Representative: Jack Trouve

Jack Trouve is a junior at Wiess college. He will be your Sophomore Representative for next year! Besides ASME, he is involved with Catalyst and RCEL! This summer he studied abroad in Spain.

Historian: Andrew Low

Andrew will be your historian for next year! He is currently a sophomore at Sid Rich that loves reading, watching TV shows, and looking at dank memes. If he’s not at Fondy working on problem sets you can catch him outside at the tennis courts, running on the outer loop, or hanging out with friends at Coffeehouse. He’s excited to meet all of y’all next year!

Nicholas hails from Orlando Florida and is a proud Wiessman of the class of 2018. He enjoys working on any Motorsport related projects and is an avid Formula 1 and WEC fan. Inspired by high performing machines, he is looking to push the engineering envelope in his future employments.

Networking Chair: Nick Wolf

Nick Wolf is an aspiring Senior Mechanical Engineering student from Clear Lake, TX. A resident of Baker (the best) College here on campus, he is driven and willing to tackle any challenge to achieve success. During his Rice career, he has been involved in numerous design projects and engineering clubs, using his experience to design everything from a medical measurement device for Shriner’s Hospital to a concrete canoe for the annual concrete canoe race. As the new Networking Chair he is ready to help ASME increase its presence on campus and provide access to fulfilling networking events.

 Angelo is a sophomore from the objectively better college (Duncan). He is from Miami, FL and moved here last year for studies. He loves the beach, running, and anime. He has a passion for music and math, and on any given day, he’ll talk to you about Super Smash Bros, anime, or blender modeling. He is excited to serve as webmaster of ASME.
